The world is ready for a new approach to spirituality: a no-nonsense approach, freeing it from its airy-fairy image. It is now time to wonder why we have embarked upon the path of spirituality. Are we trying to soften up reality, fulfill it, or are we trying to flee from it…?
From disengagement to engagement
In the Piscean Age we were called upon to become aware of the fact that there is more to life than matter alone. We came to realize that we may be made of matter, but it is the spirit which sets matter in motion. The spirit was discovered to be the most essential element in man. That is only logical, for the Piscean Age would be succeeded by the Aquarian Age in which man's consciousness would be awakened. The spirit, the organ bearing consciousness, would become the focal point of evolution. This focal point would shift from the brain (intellect) to the spirit (consciousness).
In 1989 the spiritual evolution awakening consciousness began. The power of evolution was focused on the heart chakra of life which is connected with the spirit, consciousness. As a result, the spirit of Aquarius was awakened in order to radiate the impulse of the Aquarian evolution and prepare man for a new phase. Now in the year 2002, the Aquarian Age has already begun and man's consciousness has now definitively become the focal point of evolution. Man is now called upon to account for his spirituality, but also for the spiritual responsibilities the Aquarian Age brings with it.
If in the Piscean Age becoming aware was still a luxury reserved for only the vanguard of mankind, this is now ancient history in the Aquarian Age. Awareness (spirituality) has become a basic necessity of life. In order to be able to move along in the new pattern of evolution, spirituality is no longer voluntary, but an essential issue. For the evolutionary driving force pushes man's consciousness towards the highest point: total oneness with the Source!
The changed climate
A fresh wind is blowing through many spiritual groups. Spirituality has been removed from the sphere of being special, but also from the sphere of 'dreaming about', 'hardly attainable' and 'reserved only for saints, gurus or gifted preachers'. These patterns now belong to the past. Through the impulse of the Aquarian evolution, spirituality is awakened from within, inside every single human being and on a massive scale. Every person is called upon to discover his spirit and develop his consciousness as fast as possible and to integrate the results of this awakening into everyday life. In the Aquarian Age 'the descent of the spirit into matter' is actually on the agenda!
This means that spirituality will become practical and applicable and must be able to make a real contribution to life. It must be put into practice. That is the Aquarius wind which is becoming tangible in the spiritual world. Spirituality will no longer serve as a means to flee from reality. How many spiritually orientated persons have not hindered themselves by becoming completely absorbed into the spiritual energy generated (getting high on it), whereas at the same time, they risk becoming alienated? Spirituality is no longer meant to be an escape for people who have difficulty in coping with the duality of everyday life! Spirituality must be brought down to earth in order to make life complete. However, this can only be realized if man allows his spirituality to integrate into absolutely all possible facets of life.
Spiritual sobering up
A period of spiritual sobering up has begun. Those who are still in a state of airy-fairiness or who get high on spirituality will have to come down to earth. This is necessary, because with the progress of the Aquarian evolution man is being put under pressure increasingly. Through the collective subconscious the spirit is drawn towards matter into which it must then be integrated. If man cannot accomplish this process of integration, or refuses to accept it, or tries to escape from it, his spiritual being will be increasingly put under pressure, whereby it will, eventually, be damaged. In the worst case a person might become psychotic.
People and spiritual movements only focusing on 'heaven' and thereby neglecting the process of integrating spirituality into matter, will be considerably put under pressure. The category of people threatening to become psychotic, as a result, will greatly contribute to other people's awareness in this process. Spiritual movements which are focused on heaven but not on the integration of the spirit into matter will, moreover, not be nurtured by the Aquarian impulse. The touch of Aquarius will not nurture the phenomenon of being un-earthed in man and society, but will gradually purify it.
From spirituality to reality
The spirituality of the Aquarian Age will definitely not be airy-fairy. It will be much less focused on spiritual experience, but on the realization of the spirit in matter. The new spirituality will be practical so that it can be used in everyday life. It will be understandable, workable, but above all applicable. It will heal and complete your humanity without leaving parts of your being untouched in that process. All facets of life therein will be allowed to continue to exist. It will be down to earth, practicable and, above all, it can be integrated into everyday life!
In the Aquarian Age, man will set out sowing the spirit in the field. He can only accomplish this if he is willing to accept matter and its duality fully, and not use the gained spirituality as a means to flee from the reality of life! So stand firmly in reality! Even though your life may still be very difficult and so very much tied up with suffering. That is also the reason why your spirit, your consciousness, is developing. As a form of grace this comes to your rescue, precisely intended to clear your path from suffering.
Let your spirit become the instrument to illuminate everyday reality in every sense of the word. Let your spirituality enter reality and set out, for instance, to learn to transform suffering through the power of your spirit. You will then at least transform the self-developed spirituality into a way of life in which there will be increasingly less suffering. The result will be that you will be increasingly less inclined to flee from life!
